Staircase types –
Utility Staircase – Generally used for emergency escape and everyday traffic on a storage mezzanine floor. Dependant on the desired finished floor level (FFL) these may need to incorporate a Mid Landing break/platform in order to suit Document K1.
General Access (Ambulant) – Generally used for everyday traffic of office / retail mezzanine floors. The ambulant design is to suit Document M (M1/M2 Access to buildings other than dwellings) to provide a safe means of access for ambulant disabled people.

External staircases can be supplied in a hot dipped galvanised finish, ensuring durability and longevity in all weather conditions. These staircases are generally designed with anti slip tread & landing surfaces (open) to ensure excess water escapes and help prevent further slip hazards caused by freezing conditions or snowfall.
